I’ve not written much on what God reveals to me, his guidance in my life, spiritual struggles I have, or how very much He means to me. When I try, my thoughts and words seem inadequate and difficult to form into being. How much more amazing that makes the Creator of all things to me. He simply breathed and it was…
When I read the Bible certain phrases resonate with my spirit. I will dwell on these sometimes for years before God gives me an understanding – an understanding in such a way that the concept is made alive and touchable within me. Recently I read a book called To Hell and Back: The Last Train from Hiroshima about the survivors of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. What horrific times and events those were; but, what humility and understanding of the need for peace came forth from the people who experienced that fraction of hell.
The book documents those who were within the core zone of the bomb and survived the radioactive blast. What kept them safe (no matter their proximity to Ground Zero) while those around them literally melted was being in the shadow of something…a wall, a tree, a shrub, a roof, an overhang. The object that covered them absorbed the impact and shielded them from “flash burn.” However, notably, if any part of them was not covered by the shadow that part was burned…an elbow, the top of a foot, a spot on the head.
As I read this, my heart filled with awe and the realness of the words I have pondered – being under the shadow, the wing, the shade of God – came to life and brought Life to my soul.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
The protection from hell came to the survivors that day by being sheltered within a shadow. Eternal protection from hell comes thru God’s son Jesus who went to hell and back for all us sinners. Because of Him we are sheltered within the Shadow of the Almighty.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. ~Jesus Matthew 23:37

thanks for the welcome…much for me to learn. Choosing verses that fit is my personal challenge. My hope is to try and find one that relates somehow to each blog.
The photo is from a garden we toured a couple of years back. It was lovely and I took tons of photos!
All my photos thus far are mine as is the artwork on the home page. I like how you have yours on display. I may try to incorporate some of mine on the site as well. Blessings
