Contingent

deployment of mercies

left standing

evicted on the roadside crying

among treasures,

the vultures gather

in the shadow of

despair, contingent on

heretical hands

which pass policies

through the eye of a needle

opened wide by

self-serving values

Me-ness is in

You-ness is out

on the streets

cold, calculating

vassals of lords left

abandoned by futile

attempts of sacrificial

service aimed at appeasement

of conscience

of conscience

designed to speak well

do well

welcome

those who are less fortunate

and keep them

less fortunate

and dependent upon

the deployment of mercies.

My children, let us not love with words or in talk only. Let us love by what we do and in truth.

1 John 3:18
