I think I won’t go home just yet
I’ll jump a train
to the ocean shore
Sit on the beach,
sleep and snore
Awake to the cry
of a seagull mum
calling her baby
to journey on
Ride a ship
on a moonlit night
ocean breeze
better wrap up tight
As water laps
against the stern
rhythmic sounds
sing and yearn
let’s go.
I think I won’t go home just yet
I’ll catch a plane
to the Loch Ness bog
And see if Nellie’s
fish or log
And stand among
the Scottish pine
lose myself
in thought and time
Hop the isles
to the English Moor
Listen to some
Gothic lore –
ghostly tales
of wand and wane
Make me wish
for home again.
Reading this illustrated story put me in a very relaxed state. I felt pleasantly removed from my surroundings. I like the lines ” Awake to the cry of a seagull mum calling her baby to journey on”. The illustrations look better here than the originals. I think the ‘the’ in “the ghostly tales….” should be capitalized because it starts a new sentence.
Nice work!
