roots
grow deep

when they have
family and
friends that
love them

and
when they are grown
they have medium
successes like
we all have

but
they forget
or perhaps they
don’t know

that
not all have family
not all have friends
not all have someone

who loves them

when they don’t have
medium
small
or any success at
all

when
they don’t have
deep roots
to hold
them…

when the  soil
erodes
exposes

what then?

roots
grow shallow
and sideways
when they are searching
